Whole Foods
“The doctor of the future will offer no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” -Thomas EdisonOrganic whole foods are grown in nutrient rich soils that provide nourishment to the foods grown in them. Whole, organic foods provide the best nutrients for our bodies. They are as nature intended, not stripped of their vitality. When eating whole foods, digestion and absorption of the nutrients that our bodies need comes most effortlessly, while those stripped of component nutrients do not digest as well and are less likely to be absorbed properly into our systems. White rice for example is stripped of wheat germ and bran which both have excellent digestive benefits and disease fighting nutrients. Wheat germ alone is missing the carbohydrates our bodies need.
It is clear that our mothers are right as are the scientists and nutritionists, whole foods are much healthier for the sole reason that they are whole. All of the goods: digestive enzymes, phytonutrients, antioxidants, and dietary fiber are provided in whole foods. Eat well. Be well
